<p>Due to sustained growth and overwhelming demand from their clients, our client has recently established a new Brisbane office and has an opportunity for an environmental professional with 1+ year environmental industry experience to be part of an exciting phase of growth within their company.</p>
<p>This position is suitable for someone who wants to be in control of their own destiny and prefers a role which allows unlimited training and growth as opposed to being &#8220;pigeon holed&#8221; as can be the case with larger and more bureaucratic companies.</p>

<p>Experience in mine and regional hydrogeology;</p>

<p>Due to continued expansion they are looking to employ a Senior Ecologist (with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience) to manage major ecological impact assessments.</p>
<p>You will join a team of approx 10 ecologists and be motivated by a hands on fieldwork role and joining a specialist environmental company which has the highest ethics and integrity levels.</p>
<p>Our client has an outstanding reputation in the environmental industry and as a result secure the largest and more complex EA projects in the Hunter region.</p>
<p>This role will see the incumbent being involved in the following areas; leading ecological field surveys, vegetation mapping, client liaison and leading and managing ecology and impact assessment projects.</p>
<p>Some of the key sectors our client works in are as follows;</p>
<p>Mining industry impact assessments and monitoring </p>
<p>Residential and industrial development impact assessments </p>
<p>Strategic/regional planning </p>
<p>Targeted ecology research/surveys for state and local government</p>
<p>Investigations for Land and Environment Court cases</p>
<p>Experience in the following areas although not essential will be highly regarded:</p>
<p>The presenting of expert evidence/court work experience</p>
<p>Experience in conservation projects</p>
<p>Experience in regional surveys and assessment</p>
<p>Solid experience in conducting flora and/or fauna surveys</p>
<p>Preparation of ecology management plans </p>
<p>Reporting and review for preparation of recovery plans </p>
<p>Assessments under the EPA Act, EPBC Act and other relevant legislation </p>
<p>Liaison with state and commonwealth agencies</p>

<p>This opportunity is perfect for an ecologist with 8+ years (preferably more) experience to undertake a role which involves fieldwork, project management and the maintaining of client relationships.</p>
<p>The ideal applicant for this role will be tertiary qualified with field ecology and survey experience.</p>
<p>Botany or Zoology skills are applicable for this role and a minimum 8 years’ experience within the South East Queensland region is essential as local knowledge of ecology and biodiversity is required.</p>
<p>Applicants short-listed for this opportunity will have practical bush skills, experience in developing and implementing flora and fauna surveys, an ability to identify species in the field and be able to lead field teams including junior ecology staff.</p>
<p>In addition to excellent field skills, the ideal applicant will also have solid writing and communication skills that allows effective communicate with clients and colleagues.</p>
