Ecologist – Brisbane

Our client is a leading international company and their Brisbane environmental team forms a large and key part of their company and their core business.

Their strong environmental team has specialists in many areas such as sustainability, planning, ecology, water and environmental assessments.

Due to continued growth (they didn’t retrench during the GFC) they currently have an opportunity for an ecologist with a knowledge of both flora and fauna to join their successful, friendly and stable ecology team.

Our client is seeking a ecologist with a minimum of 3 years experience in a ecology role and take on a role which covers the following areas;

Hands on fieldwork – baseline surveys, threatened species surveys and vegetation monitoring

Project management of field ecology projects. Please note, only those with applicable experience will be expected to take on project management without our client’s formal project management training.

Preparation of reports

Assisting with the mentoring of a junior.

So, this role, will offer the successful applicant the chance to work with blue-chip companies, to steer away from small scale developer projects and the opportunity to enjoy formal project management training. This, coupled with the opportunity to mentor a junior, means this role will not facilitate professional growth in all directions.

Our client offers the opportunity to work on major projects in areas such as oil and gas, mining and some of the largest linear infrastructure projects in QLD.

For this role it is essential that you have tertiary qualifications in ecology, zoology or environmental sciences with your major in ecology.
